New Beater Blade

Don't you hate it when you have to stop the mixer part way through to scrape the bowl? I saw this in a kitchen specialty shop in Vancouver and thought I'd give it a try.

Here's the difference between the standard one that comes with the Kitchenaid mixer and the new one:

As you can see, it's larger and has rubber spatula-like scrapers on the side that touch the sides of the bowl as it's mixing.

Before shot with standard, sub-par beater. Look at all the residue on the sides!

...and after with new and improved bowl scraping beater.

Well worth the $35 I paid for it. I doubt I'll ever use the old one again.
